Ombudsman Seeks Collaboration with US Ambassador in Sierra Leone.
In a bid to strengthen ties and foster collaboration, Ombudsman Tejan Ahmed Israel Jah Esq. paid a courtesy call to the United States Ambassador to Sierra Leone, Bryan Hunt. The meeting, held at the Ambassador's office in Freetown, aimed at establishing a partnership to address issues of administrative injustice and malpractice.
During the visit, the Ombudsman highlighted the role of his office in receiving and investigating complaints from the public and public sector workers. Emphasizing the use of Alternative Dispute Redress Mechanisms, such as negotiation and mediation, he stressed the importance of partnerships with entities like the Anti-Corruption Commission and Human Rights Commission.
Acknowledging the vital role of the Ombudsman's Office in ensuring fairness within the Civil/Public Service, Ambassador Hunt expressed support for its endeavors. He encouraged seeking assistance from USAID to expand outreach efforts and continue serving the public, particularly in remote areas.
